Attendance

Mark the register on a phone, between periods, in about thirty seconds.

  • Present, absent, late, sick or excused
  • The parent is messaged the same morning
  • Their reply is filed against that day, not lost in a chat
  • Term attendance per child, ready for a report

Fees

Who has paid, who has not, and how far behind they are.

  • Invoices, receipts and a running balance per child
  • Money goes straight to the school’s own BML or MIB account
  • Skewlapp never handles your fees and never holds them
  • Salaries are owner-only. The office cannot open them.

Results

Enter marks once. Report cards stay in draft until you say otherwise.

  • Marks entry per class, per subject
  • Grades worked out as you type
  • Nothing reaches a parent before you publish
  • One report card per child, every term
ABAC

Parent messages

Reach families where they actually read things, which is not email.

  • One notice to the whole school, or to one class
  • Sign-in codes go out over WhatsApp
  • Parents sign in with a phone number
  • Nothing for a family to install

The alternatives were built for schools ten times your size.

PowerSchool and the rest are good software for a district with an IT department. A two hundred pupil school on an island is not who they were designed for, and the price and the support both show it.

One price, not per student

The international systems bill per student per year, in dollars, and a licence renews whether you grew or shrank. This is one monthly price in rufiyaa. Adding staff never costs more.

You get a person, not a ticket

One developer, in Malé. When something breaks in the middle of term you call him, in your timezone, and he already knows your school.

Parents never need an email address

They sign in with a mobile number and get their code over WhatsApp. Every parent portal that assumes email quietly goes unused here, and an unused portal is worse than none.

It starts from the file you already keep

Import the student spreadsheet the office has been running on. No data-entry project, no consultant, no six-week onboarding.

One door. Three very different views.

A teacher cannot open another teacher's class. A parent cannot open another family's child. That wall is in the database, not the screen.

The office

Enrol a student, get the parent’s code in the same step. Chase fees, send notices, see everything.

Teachers

Their own classes and nothing else. Take the register, enter marks, done.

Parents

One child. Their attendance, their results, their fees. Not the class list.

Nobody is handed a password. The school gives out a short code and the person picks their own.

Questions worth asking first.

Who else is using it?
Nobody yet. You would be the first, and the price says so. If you would rather wait until another school has taken the risk, say that now rather than after a demo.
What does it cost?
Per school, not per teacher, so adding staff never costs more. First month free, no card. The exact figure depends on how many students you have.
Where do our records live?
On servers in Mumbai, the closest region there is, which is why it feels quick here. Each school is walled off from every other school inside the database itself.
What if we want to leave?
Your records are yours. Ask and you get the lot back as a spreadsheet. No exit fee, no notice period.
Does it need good internet?
A phone signal, not fibre. No video, no chat widget, nothing loading in the background while a teacher is marking a register.
Do we have to move everything at once?
No. Start with attendance and announcements. Turn fees on later, once the bank side is sorted.

Bring the spreadsheet you already keep.

Whatever shape it is in. Most schools are running on it by the end of the same afternoon.
